I’m a furniture dealer and I would like to speak to a sales representative. What should I do?
  • Please use our contact form to send us your name, address, and the name of your business. A sales representative will be in touch as soon as possible.
What would happen if the bed was in an up position and power went out at the residence?
  • We advise that you purchase any power strip cord that has a backup battery supply within the strip. This can be purchased from your local electronic store. The power strip cord with a backup battery supply will generate enough electricity to lower the bed to a flat position in the event of a power outage. Depending on the type of power strip you buy, it will most likely not have enough “battery power” to operate the bed on a continual basis during the power outage and as such will only operate the bed to the flat position. Once the power to the residence is restored, the electricity used to operate the bed will come from the electrical supply within the home. Suggestion: Power Down for AC—option to puchase through "UPS-Un Power Supply," through Tigerdirect.com for approximately $49.99. We have tested in our R&D dept. and it powered the bed 11 times.
Are Leggett & Platt adjustable beds covered by Medicare or medical insurance?
  • In some cases the purchase may be covered by Medicare or Insurance. The purchaser will need to file the claim with Medicare or their insurance company under the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) code: DME # E0295: Hospital bed, semi-electric (head and foot adjustment), without side rails, without mattress. Accompanying this DME code, the purchaser must provide their physician’s prescription for an adjustable bed and paid receipt for the adjustable bed to Medicare or their insurance company.

NOTE: Each customer should confirm coverage with medicare or their insurance company prior to purchasing their Leggett & Platt adjustable base.

How do I purchase a Bariatic heavy duty adjustable bed?
  • Check with retailers in your area that carry the Leggett & Platt Adjusta-Magic line and request a special order of a heavy duty version of this model which will have an additional 75 lb. and a total weight limit of 675 lb.
Where do I purchase a bed skirt for my adjustable bed?
  • Most major retailers have various length bed skirts. You may have to cut holes in the flat of the skirt to accomodate the mattress retainer. If so, it is recommended that you iron a fusible interfacing onto the back of the skirt for reinforcement; this will help prevent future unraveling after washing. Another suggestion to prevent unraveling is to sew buttonholes into the bed skirt.
How do I prevent the mattress from sliding?
  • The mattress will naturally slide from head to foot. You can reduce the sliding from side to side by putting a non-slip pad between the mattress and the base.
How can I stop my bed from sliding on my hardwood / tile floor?
  • Rubber caster cups can be found in the accessories.
What is the length and width of my bed?
  • Leggett & Platt bases are designed to accomodate standard bed sizes and measurements.

Where do I find the serial number for my adjustable bed base?
  • The serial number should begin with a C, G, L, or W, followed by six digits. It is located 1) on the front of the owner’s manual, 2) on the back of the hand control, and 3) on the underside of the bed base.
Does the AC — DC mean the Direct Current and Alternate Current?
  • The AC/DC refers to the motors that are on the adjustable bases. These are distinguished by weight lifting capabilities. The AC Powerlift motor has a weight lifting capacity of up to 600 lb. on top of the mattress. The DC Whisper Quiet motor has a weight lifting capacity of up to 450 lb. on top of the mattress an it also has the “power down” box. This feature allows the bed to be reset to the flat or horizontal position should you lose electrical power or if the bed remote is not communicating properly with the adjustable base.
Do I need a bed frame or box spring?
  • No, you do not need a metal bed frame or a box spring. The adjustable base takes the place of both these items. Your mattress will set directly on top of the base which offers the same support as a box spring would. It also has its own legs which support your adjustable base off the floor.
